but knowing what you know now, if you were part of the decision-making process, would you be inclined to facillitate jw's to adopt?
No but JW children should have the option to adopt new parents that won;t submit them to brainwashing and guilt-tripping and ostracism from society.

i was reading some threads earlier and someone mentioned using the societies literature to write school reports.
how they felt smug and superior... i remember that feeling... anyway they stated that it worked well because no one ever checked the references!
i wonder if it would be possible to spread the word (through teachers associations and things) that they should specificly check the references on papers turned in by witness youths!
I think you might have read one of my threads, I had a teacher who for an assignment had a list of books that we had to pick one and either check out of the library or go and buy the book, it could be any book from the list.
I don't know if my parents were just to lazy to take me down to the library or bookstore or what but my parents use to made me use the My book of Bible Stories book to write the book report, my teacher said no that I had to write a report from the list so my parents made a big fuss at my school and my teacher had to allow me to use that book, all the kids laughed at me for my stupid ass report. My parents didn't allow Worldly books in the house, not until later when I was a teen.

I like to go to TV show tapings, but I don't like to go up to famous people and bug them.
we wrote our da letter, mailed off a copy to the society & put the other copy in the drop box at the kh yesterday.
the elders had called us every day from saturday through tuesday wanting us to come in to meet....so they could df us i'm sure & probably at tonight's meeting mind you.
funny thing......after dropping off our letter yesterday before service time started, we received no phone call last night.

my ccw instructor was not very encouraging about 3rd party defense by a ccw holder.
he said that it was not only risky because too often you (the ccw holder) don't know the whole story and you could make a big mistake.
in addition, there's the risk that you could act in defense of a stranger, only to find out the stranger is horrified by you having a gun, and could say something to the cops that screws you over (even if you've acted within the bounds of the law).. given that the society's published attitude about guns as defense, is that christians "reject magic and weapons as tools of protection," how willing would you be to act in defense of a jw that a) you didn't know [you saw them being attacked on the street] or b) you did know?

Welcome, on this site you will find people from all over the world, who many have had such a negative experiance with the Org. I know myself may joke a lot when it comes to many of the topics here, but will never belittle anyones beliefs or stress that my opinion on God, religion is more right than yours, I think that is the freedom that many of us enjoy here.
I was never baptized JW, but now I am baptized Catholic, and my family enjoy a wonderful fellowship with others in my parish, don't mistake that only JW's have a joyful, friendly, loving organization.

I don't have a CCW but I do have several guns at home for defense only, I would not hesitate to drop a hammer on some idiot breaking into my house, now if I was at home and lived next door to a JW, it would have to depend on the situation of course but I would have to say it would take a lot for me to get involved and break out my guns, just thinking of all the head ache afterwards with civil actions against you, and even if it was helping someone else there could be possibility of criminal case against you by over zealous police. I think it would have to be something like children or elderly were in a life or death struggle, sounds mean but I don’t want to loose all I have for someone who considers me dead already.
